The Ides of March

As it is one of my few goals for last year, my second driving test is booked for the 13th of this month.

I'm taking lessons this week and next in the hope that last minute information cramming and the desire to be brainwashed will pull me through. The thing is to retain that information and remember how to use it in a practical way. Studying is what tests are all about after all.

I don't have a sponge for a brain, its more of a wooden block. I absorb and then i forget. I definitely don't retain unless its something I'm in love with.

The first lesson i had with a friendly guy named Rod was full of hope. (Not THAT kind of hope.)
I am apparently going to the worse licensing centre in the city. They have the highest fail record. Without multiple lessons from a driving school its pretty much rumoured hopeless.

But I'm definitely getting somewhere. I think I've stumbled upon the answer. Make whatever you're trying to learn into sort of a fetish. Daydreams, imagined scenarios and mental pictures all make for useful study time.
