Tweenage

"Once upon a time, there lived three little girls in a small castle. It looked more like a house, but we're going to ignore that for now.
These three little ladies were all growing up into little women. Things changed to suit this in their castle. Though they were still mentally children, they'd heard from other castles that it was time to become "adult." Mirrors arrived, nail polish was ordered, fashion magazines were borrowed, and clothes were bought to show off their raging hormonal figures.
They still didn't know exactly how to make the transition. Mother wasn't exactly their idea of their future self, and she didn't seem to be interested in buying them lingerie either.
They needed role models. Barbies weren't good enough anymore. They watched a few movies and found to their utter joy that all they needed to do was learn how to talk really fast and really loud about almost nothing together, lather makeup on in groups in bathrooms, go to clubs when they were old enough or when they could get away with it, and just do whatever they saw anyone older and louder then them did.
All the desired results happened. In their current self loving cultivated states they decided that they were better then most others. They figured out ways to keep this self love high; they watched more movies and learnt cool teens are supposed to despise their parents and anyone who made them uncomfortable.
Now that they were firmly on this little ladder of self, they were content. They forgot about imagination, and remembered only that it was easier to be told what to like and who to like them using their own opinion. As for that, they had somewhat lost it in the process."
